Work-in-progress lyrics that I’ve been working on for about a week now. The bold part is supposed to be the chorus.

Weekend

This week for me seemed to go slower than usual. I’m not sure why, but it was unusually painful. Anyways, here is what is on tap for me this weekend. If I even do half of the things listed, I’ll be impressed with myself.

Play tennis
Figure out what the hell is going on in my marketing class
Play a round of golf
Help write/revise the rules of quidditch
Chalk cube wars in the pit
Write in my new pretty red journal every day this weekend
Actually read my Wall Street Journals for once
Write a drug/alcohol song for next week

Other than that, it will be a pretty quiet weekend. I’m excited for that.

I would love to buy a 5 pound gummy bear. I don’t even think that I would be able to eat it. Instead, I would probably just set it out and look at it in amazement.

I haven’t had McDonalds in almost 2 weeks. However, I feel like I may be making a trip there tonight. I haven’t had much to eat today, and there are not many options available. I of course could always eat at Whitney, but that would require me to go against almost everything I believe in. Therefore, about the only option left for eating is McDonalds.

Right now, CNN is on and they are talking about the health care debate (suprise). I hope that the house finally passes something tonight. It has definitely been a long time coming and I hope that the dems don’t back out at the last minute. It’s too important. I was lucky enough to here Karl Rove talk about the vote this morning. Of course, Karl Rove was trying to convince everyone that if health care passed, it would bankrupt the U.S. If I have learned anything in 21 years, it is that you should never believe anything Karl Rove says. He was up to his usual stunts, trying to scare the average person into believing things that are simply not true. The only problem is that this time we aren’t going to believe you Karl. Remember the big banner you put up on the USS Abraham Lincoln 6 months after the Iraq War started saying Mission Accomplished. Look at us now, 7 years later. We are still in Iraq. I guess that you and King George II got that one wrong, didn’t you? No matter what may happen with health care, all you have to do is look back a few years to see how far we’ve moved forward already.

Thank you chemistry.com for reminding me every week that you can help me find love. Even after I have tried to unsubscribe (I never really subscribed in the first place, I just took the test) you still send me email about how you have the perfect match for me. Perhaps you forgot the fact that I have no matches within 50 miles of the La Crosse area. I have done everything possible to try and stop these emails. Apparently they want to keep reminding me every other day of the fact that there is no match for me. And it is especially annoying when they decide to have a free communication weekend. Then I get an email every day. Tell me chemisty.com, who exactly am I supposed to communicate with? Did you forget that I have 0 matches… Please, stop promising things that you obviously cannot deliver. Thank you.

500 Days of Matt??

For me, spring break has been interesting so far. There has been good parts and there have been bad parts.

Good:

1) I got to hit some golf balls for the first time this year. I didn’t do too bad either.

2) I ate a huge muffin that was absolutely delicious.

3) I haven’t had to do any homework… yet.

Bad:

1) My computer battery is officially dying. There goes $100+ dollars down the drain.

2) I have a physical on Monday. Those are never fun.

3) Haven’t had McDonald’s since break has started. Some may consider this a good thing, but Shamrock Shakes are like drugs.

4) I watched 500 Days of Summer for the first time. Again, you may be saying that this is a good thing, but unfortunately Tom’s life resemblemed mine a little too closely for my liking. He even kind of looked like me, and he certainly dressed like me. Really, after watching the first half hour, I had a hard time even finding more than a couple differences between the character and myself. That being said, it was still a good movie. It just scared me a little bit.

Winthrop

So the question at hand is… Why is it that I am an avid fan of Winthrop basketball? When you think about it, it really makes no sense. I have no connections to anyone who attends Winthrop nor have I ever been there. To be honest, I don’t even know where it is (It’s in South Carolina). But in all honesty, it boils down to two simple reasons why I cheer for Winthrop every time they make it into the NCAA tournament, which by the way they did this year!!!!

Reason 1: I played the part of Winthrop in The Sound of Music in 8th grade. Ever since then I have been somewhat partial to the name. It brings good memories.

Reason 2: In my opinion, they have one of the better logos/mascot in the NCAA. I love the colors, the mascot, and overall the whole package.

So make fun of me if you must for picking Winthrop no matter who they play in the first round, but I’ll be the one laughing last when they make it to the Final Four.

Well, I must say that Sunday has been a somewhat productive day. However, it wasn’t in the way that I had been hoping. This morning I found out that my resume has mysteriously disappeared from my computer. It even had the audacity of leaving without saying goodbye. Thanks a lot computer, now I must try to reproduce something that I have been working on for the last year. I think that I have a created a good first draft again, but it isn’t what it was like before. Hell, I can’t even remember what was on there before. I know that I’ve been doing things, yet I can’t remember them when I want to write them down. Oh well, I guess you can just put this on my tab just like everything else that has happened in the past week…

It’s just a response.

This post is in response to an answer given at our hall’s Sex in the Dark program last night. I forget the exact wordage of the question, but the question was basically, “Why are women attracted to douchebags.” The response, which didn’t make a lot sense to me, was that they liked because they had more confidence in themselves and that the women thought that they could fix them. My initial reaction to this response was “Yes, they have more confidence, but they are still douchebags.” However, when the question about whether or not the females would stay with a man if they cheated, the unanimous answer was no. This answer surprised me because if you want to try and fix a douchebag peson into something better, then you are going to have to accept the fact that they are going to make mistakes along the way. Hey, I don’t care if you want to date the douchebag. That is your decision, but don’t try to make me feel sorry for you when he goes and cheats because that is what he is going to do. If you want to truly change him, then you’re going to have to put up with his cheating until you can “change” him for the better (Also, I would like to wish anyone trying to change them good luck. Unfortunately I have met a lot of douchebags in my 21 years and I have yet to see one change).

The final thing that threw me off was when the females were asked about whether or not personality counted for anything. Of course, they answered yes. It seems to me that they want to make themselves believe that they are looking for a good personality, but in reality all they really want is someone who will treat them poorly and have a big ego. On the other hand, another possibility is that the type of personality that they are looking for is the stereotypical douchebag type. I don’t think that this is the case, but I could be mistaken (It wouldn’t be the first time). Anyways, that was my take on the answers given. Take them or leave them, I don’t care. It’s just my opinion.

Average Day…

Well, today was nothing special. I woke up and went to class, where I almost fell asleep. Then I went and had Chars for lunch (big suprise). I did switch it up and get a cheeseburger. I know what you’re thinking. Wow, what a big change. Well it was, so leave me alone. I then went and worked at the REC, where once again the deposit was off (another big suprise). Oh well, there’s always tomorrow. I then went on to get ready for my marketing meeting. I was actually somewhat productive this afternoon. It must have been because I wasn’t on facebook constantly and because of the soothing music I was listening to (see earlier posts). Other than that, there wasn’t much new. I did play my harmonica today, which I must say is pretty relaxing. Even though I have no idea what I’m doing with it, it almost sounds like I know what I’m doing. I must be a natural.

I must say, I am pretty excited for spring. This time of year is always difficult for me because it is warm enough to go golfing, but there is still snow on the ground. Only a month to go, at least that is what I keep telling myself. Ton
